Nursery and Preschools

Safari Childcare

79 Halstead Rd, Colchester CO3 9AD, UK – 01206 546824

This is a great nursery. It has a homely feel and the garden has just been revamped and looks amazing. The staff are lovely and are happy to help if you have any concerns. The food menu is good and they cater for dairy and soya free children. Highly recommend

They are lovely people and even better with kids. They are ever ready to help us as parents and help us a lot with the inputs that we give them. God bless!!!!!!!

Lexden Montessori

5 Oxford Rd, Colchester CO3 3HN, UK – 01206 760863

I love Lexden Montessori, I worked here! It is a fun, loving environment that feels like home. The Montessori approach is incredible & truly gives children a great start in life.

Having visited various nurseries in the area I can honestly say that in my opinion Lexden Montessori offer a incredibly high quality level of care at a suprisingly affordable price.

King's Ford Infant School and Nursery

Gloucester Ave, Colchester CO2 9AZ, UK – 01206 574524

That used to be my old school and the reason why I think it is ok is because I got bullied there a lot.

Brilliant school exceptionally well run with dedicated teachers. Maintaining high standards of learning and fully appropriate behaviour in a modern world. My daughter had and now my grand daughters also will benefit from this experience. Thank you, St Mary's.

Colchester High School & Nursery

15 Wellesley Rd, Colchester CO3 3HD, UK – 01206 573389

At the time of writing my son is in the reception class at Colchester High School and my daughter is in the nursery. I cannot fault this school and am genuinely grateful for all it has done so far to help my kids, particularly my son settle into their education. Children are seen as individuals here and the teaching is excellent with full differentiation to ensure each child reaches their potential academically. There is also a strong emphasis on sport starting from nursery age which my two absolutely thrive on. With its quirky array of somewhat charming Victorian buildings that lay home to so many wonderful staff and students, the school is a very welcoming place. I feel as though my family are part of a warm and friendly community that will always do its best to guide our kids through the most impressionable years of their life. A positive buzz runs though the school at all times and from what I can see, this stems from the school’s ability to create happy confident kids with good values. The interaction between different year groups is a lovely thing to see. At the school disco, my four year old son was chatting to a group of eight year olds. They all know each other and are all friends! A great place :)

We think Colchester High School is a gem of a school. Our two children have thrived here. Academically they progress well and are achieving, but this school is about so much more. Children are individuals not numbers, they are taught values to become independent learners, inquisitive, kind, respectful to others and rounded human beings. It is a town centre school so doesn't have flashy grounds or acres of parking but if you look beyond material interests, it is a school which will nurture and value your children.
